All About Community Dental Center

Community Dental Center is a non-profit dental center providing quality, comprehensive dental care to all Washtenaw County residents with an emphasis on treating persons limited by finances, physical conditions or other factors. Our experienced, caring staff provides the highest level of dental care so that our patients can achieve a state of enduring good oral health.
The City of Ann Arbor and Mayor Wheeler founded Community Dental Center in 1981. Housing and Urban Development funds were used to build the building. Dr. Paul Lang was actively involved in the formation of the dental center. Later, Dr. Robert Bagramian became the first Director of Community Dental Center and served in that position for 15 years. The present director, Dr. Doris Allen assumed the leadership of the center in July of 1996.
The main source of revenue for the clinic is generated from patient's payments for services. The City of Ann Arbor provides Block Grant money each year to subsidize dental fees. Other funding for patient services comes from grants from Washtenaw County, Washtenaw United Way, and donations from private individuals.
Financial assistance is available to qualified families and individuals who are permanent residents of Washtenaw County for dental services.
